Land Rover's Discovery Sport can help you find your lost belongings
Good news, klutzes! Your British 4x4 SUV can now help you find your lost belongings. Land Rover announced on Tuesday evening that it is the first automaker to integrate Bluetooth tracking app Tile to help you find your misplaced belongings. When you have Tile's tiny Bluetooth tags with your items, you can locate their whereabouts on the Land Rover Discovery Sport's in-dash InControl infotainment touchscreen display. If you haven't yet misplaced something, the car can tell you where something is, even if it's in the car. Personally, while I don't often lose things, I do usually wonder whether I brought something along with me in the car — especially when rushing out the door for a trip. You know, when you don't want to remember that you left your wallet on the dresser when you're sitting on the tarmac. Certainly, this integration has questionable utility in the broad scheme of things. After all, how many people are both Tile uses and also Discovery Sport owners? Few, I suspect. However, it does indicate a broader, more important attitude and trend: Carmakers, specifically Jaguar Land Rover, are working on ways to make your car more than just a thing you get into and go places in but an integral and helpful part of your life, from luxuriously getting you from A to B, entertaining your backseat passengers with infotainment and helping you find your lost wallet.
